Is it difficult to train two budgies to talk?

they live in one cage.

I think having two will be very difficult for them to learn, they’re more interested in each other. Males are usually the one with the ability to talk. The age also affects their ability to speak, you’ll have more luck with a young bird. I taught mine by covering his cage everynight and lying in bed repeating what I wanted him to say until I fell asleep. Every night until he learned to say it , than I’d start on another word. It worked so well that he also learned to say “shut up Schnapps” cause he never shut up! His name was Schnapps. Sounded really funny when they say the “s”. Lots and Lots of patience!!!

He also would fly to me when I called him, shook hands, gave kisses, what a wonderful bird he was!
